Programme & Curriculum
Te Puna Kōhungahunga Mana Motuhake, is a Māori-medium centre, and operates on a whānau model. We encourage tamariki to learn about the tikanga and reo of tangata whenua of the rohe, and to provide a learning environment that responds to the interests and learning needs of individual tamariki.
We offer a dynamic learning environment based on Te Whāriki (NZ Early Education Curriculum) that is child-focussed and offer learning-through-play opportunities, to enable confident and competent tamariki. There is also focus on learning te reo Māori and tikanga. Learning may be in both English and te reo or in te reo only.
Our centre is a Māori-medium setting level 2 which means te reo Māori is spoken 51-79% of the time. Many of our kaiako speak additional languages, and all home languages are valued.
